Welcome to Association Pour la Terre
Association Pour
la Terre is proud and pleased to announce that production of two
projects sponsored by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP),
which recently formally endorsed the projects, has commenced. They
consist of:
a) The Billion
Tree CD and School Kit (see UNEP’s Billlion Tree Campaign
website) for
Children and Young People (with possible concert) for international
distribution, in association with UNEP as part of the Billion Tree
Campaign.
b) Un Arbre Pour
la Paix; Un Arbre Pour la Terre (A Tree for Peace; A Tree for The Earth)
CD and School Kit for French speaking children aged 6 to 12, in
association with Paris based Agence 6-12) (Click
here for PowerPoint presentation). We
shall be planting over 4000 trees on Earth Day (April 22, 2008) and
throughout April. Reforestation of burnt woods and forests will be take
place with school classes in France and Monaco as part of the project
with perhaps a concert in Paris. To date, Pour la Terre has the
Patronage of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and Foundation
Sophia-Antipolis for the Tree for Peace, Tree for the Earth project and
other sponsorships are under discussion.
Pour la Terre has
launched the “ Tree for Peace; Tree for the Earth” campaign in Luceram
in the Cote d’Azur.
1) Luceram
One of our
sponsors, the group Moselle Vieillemard, is donating over 4000 saplings
(oaks, chestnut trees, maple trees, and “ essences feuillues”) as
stipulated by our friends at O.N.F), for reforestation purposes, by
school children. Our first reforestation day is in Luceram, located in
the lower Alps 45 minutes above Nice, which suffered terribly during the
horrific Summer fires of 2003 that destroyed many hundreds of hectares
of beautiful forests. We are producing a CD and School Kit “A Tree for
Peace; A Tree for The Earth”, which will include Yannick’s Noah song “Aux
arbres citoyens.” We have secured another sponsor for the corresponding
School kit relating to trees, which will be distributed freely with the
CD to hundreds of school children. All the Mayors and the schools of the
dozen towns and villages of the Valleys of the Paillon are
participating. We have thus entered the first pledge of planting 4000
trees on the UNEP website, as part of the Billion tree campaign.
We hope this will
serve as a template for future projects throughout France, Europe and
the World. As the Chinese say: The journey of a thousand miles starts
with the first step.
2) Hills
surrounding Monaco.
We are honored
to have the Patronage of the Prince Albert of Monaco II Foundation,
which desires for Pour la Terre to participate in a tree planting
ceremony in the hills around Monaco with French and Monaco school
children. Our CDs/School kit, and a further 2000 trees will be offered
by our sponsors.
3) The
International Billion Tree CD/School kit.
We have commenced
production with the accumulation of songs relating specifically to
trees. All the songs not used for the CD could be placed on the Billion
Tree website for free downloading. Potential sponsors are welcome to
join with us.
